    Quick Thai Beef Curry

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, I have been asking question about what you guys are interested in learning and I even have been posting videos of how to make some of the recipes that I have been posting here.Based on last night question’s you decided on the Quick Thai Beef Curry. As I’ve already shared there, last year my husband and I went to Thailand for our honeymoon and we learned how to make some Thai meals. • Brazilian Food,  Easter

Here is another dish that comes from our colonisers. Bacalhoada is nothing more than a salted cod fish, kind of like a fast confit, which we just eat at Easter time.Back in Salvador, we eat on Easter Sunday because on Good Friday we eat comida baiana- the amazing local food from Bahia state. You can find many recipes on the internet and many ways and ingredients to add or take out. But this is the only way I know how to make and is how I make it every time. We normally serve it with rice and a salad, but you can always add other sides as well. Ingredients 600g salted…

Bolinho de Bacalhau – Cod Fritters

With three weeks until Easter, I think this is one of the few occasions that we Brazilians remember the traditional Portuguese foods. Easter time back home always starts one month before with the families buying the dry cod to make Bolinho de Bacalhau or Bacalhoada (a kind of cod stew with potatoes, olives, lots of olive oil, tomotoes, egg and onion – recipe coming soon). Bolinho de Bacalhau is such an easy recipe for entree while the family wait for the main meal. The ingredients are very simple but it is full of flavour. Ingredients 450g wet salted cod fish fillets 450g unpeeled potato, cooked and mashed 50g red onion,…

Beef Lasagna – Lasanha de Carne

Normally in our house, it’s my husband who likes to cook lasagna and pasta sauces, but every now and then I give it a go: not to show him I can cook it better than him, but just so I don’t forget this kind of cooking. Back in Brazil I grew up thinking that lasagna was something fancy because my mum never really knew how to make it and because it was so different from what she usually made. Once in a while, my neighbour Lia would make some extra and bring it to me and my brother – we thought it was the most amazing thing in the world.…

    Banana Bread

Banana bread or banana cake? Well, I don’t really know but this is so good that I don’t really care. I like to make it, slice it and freeze individually, so when I want a slice for breakfast or snack It’s easy to defrost. For this recipe I used almond nuts, but you can use any kind you like. Also I added poppy seeds but you can take it out if you’d prefer. I like to make other variations with the flour as well. Enjoy! Ingredients 4 bananas 1/2 cup olive oil 2 eggs 100g honey 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup almond milk 40g brown sugar 1 tsp baking…

    Quinoa and Kale Salad

Hey peeps, Last week on Instagram I commented that I had done a good job making healthy breakfast for a week, and because of that I would try to focus on lunch/dinner options in the future. Well, well, well, it was my birthday week last week and I totally lost track of my goal. I probably only ate one healthy meal. This week I’m already off to a good start and I’m very excited about the rest of the week. I’ll be eating this salad over two meals but it can actually serve up to four people. Today I ate it with pan-fried bass fish and tomorrow I’ll be eating…
